The show is 9:00 – 6:00 on Saturday, and 11:00 – 5:00 on Sunday. Admission is $10 for both days. We will be located in Aisle I, towards the front of the building on the right as you enter.

Mosby Historical Society will be celebrating the birthday of Col. John S. Mosby at his graveside on November 29, 2025 at 10:30am in the Warrenton Cemetery, Virginia.
The 45th Annual Spring Civil War Mosby Bus Tour is titled, "From Raider to Ranger: Mosby and Stuart's Raids in the Winter of 1862." Saturday, May 9, 2026. Sponsored by the Stuart-Mosby Historical Society (SMHS). Tour leaders will be Kevin Pawlak and Rob Orrison. Join them as they follow John S. Mosby on some of his earliest raids of 1862 as well as the famous Fairfax Court House raid of 1863. Be a part of the longest-running Mosby tour in the United States! $80 for members of the SMHS and $90 for non-members. Tour does not include lunch. Lunch is on your own, but we will be stopping at sites with a variety of lunch options. Old Town Civil War Roundtable Historical Civil War Talk, Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 10am. Don Hakenson and Chuck Mauro will be discussing their new books, “A Tour Guide and History of Col. John S. Mosby’s Combat Operations in Central Virginia” and “A Tour Guide and History of Col. John S. Mosby’s Combat Operations in Southern Virginia and Other States.” The host is Mark Tooley. The presentation will be at Murphy's Grand Irish Pub (2nd floor), 713 King Street, Alexandria, VA, 22314. All are welcome to order food and drink during the talk. Bring your friends!

ERIC BUCKLAND WILL BE CONDUCTING A WALKING TOUR OF SHARON CEMETERY IN MIDDLEBURG, VA., AUGUST 2, 2025 - 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM. Over 30 Mosby Rangers have their final resting places in the lovely and peaceful Sharon Cemetery in Middleburg, Virginia. The Walking Tour will visit many of the Rangers' graves where their stories will be told and, if available, photos of them will be shown. EVERYONE IS WELCOME. YOU NEED NOT BE A MEMBER OF THE STUART-MOSBY HISTORICAL SOCIETY IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS EVENT - OF COURSE, AT ITS COMPLETION, YOU MIGHT CHOOSE TO JOIN. Come join in this very interesting tour that will feature a mixture of funny, sad, dramatic and always compelling stories. A DONATION OF $10 IS SUGGESTED. On August 21, 2025, Chuck Mauro will present a talk on his book: We Once Met by Chance: Four Life Stories of the American Civil War, which follows the lives of Colonel John S. Mosby, Brigadier General Charles Russell Lowell, Laura Ratcliffe, and James Robinson during the American Civil War.
On August 24, Don and I will also be at the American History Day at the Winery at Bull Run from Noon to 5:00. The address is 15950 Lee Highway, Centreville, VA. I will be selling my latest book, Witnesses to History: Civil War History & Relics in Northern Virginia.
On Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at 7:30pm, Chuck Mauro & Don Hakenson will speak on their latest books at the Arlington-Fairfax Elks Lodge, at 8421 Arlington Boulevard, Fairfax, Virginia 22031.
On September 4, 2025, Don Hakenson and Chuck Mauro will present a talk on: A Tour Guide and History of Col. John S. Mosby’s Combat Operations in Loudoun County, Virginia, which is a guide to over 110 locations in Loudoun County where Colonel John Singleton Mosby conducted his raids during the Civil War. It is also a guide to the locations of the historical markers dedicated to those raids, and the locations of the graves of Mosby’s Rangers who are buried in Loudoun County. Both presentations will be held at the Cascades Library, 21030 Whitfield Place, Potomac Falls, VA, 20165 from 7pm to 8pm.

Chuck Mauro & Don Hakenson will be speaking to the Bull Run Civil War Round Table at 7:00 pm on Thursday, October 9, at the Centreville Library, 14200 Saint Germain Drive, Centreville, VA. They will be discussing our latest two books: A Tour Guide and History of Col. John S. Mosby’s Combat Operations in Central Virginia and A Tour Guide and History of Col. John S. Mosby’s Combat Operations in Southern Virginia and Other States. They will also provide insight as to how they write our books.

The Both Sides Tour is scheduled for Saturday, October 25, 2025. We will be visiting the New Market Battlefield. We will be also going into the New Market Battlefield Military Museum and the Virginia Museum of the Civil War, in addition to several sites in and around New Market. Lunch will be in the Southern Kitchen in New Market. Southern Fried Chicken or another meat will be served. We will be leaving the Franconia Museum at 8:15am sharp, with another pick-up scheduled at Gainesville around 9:15am. The tour guides will be Don Hakenson; Carl Sell and Ben Trittipoe. Due to the increase in food and stopping at two great museums we have had to increase the fee to $135 for the trip.
